This collection consists of films, photographs, negatives, and slides relating to the Annis family vacations, the R.B. Annis Company, and aerial views of points of interest in Indianapolis including the construction of the Lockefield Gardens Apartments. There are also aerial views and negatives of the Weir Cook Municipal Airport and Arsenal Technical High School. There are glass plate negatives of the members of the 1925 Indianapolis Radio Club and negatives of Annis and others meeting Governor Matthew E. Welsh.

180 cans of 16 mm. film, 1 box of photographs, 1 box of 35 mm. negatives, 4 boxes of 3 x 4 glass lantern slides, 2 8 x 10 glass plate negatives, 7 4 x 5 acetate negatives, 4 4 x 5 polyester negatives, 9 120 mm. negatives, 1 artifact.

The Lockefield Garden Apartments (Indianapolis, Ind.) were built between 1935 and 1937 as a federal Public Works Administration project. The apartments were segregated, located on twenty-two acres bound by Indiana Avenue, and Blake, North, and Locke streets. The N.P. Severin Company (Chicago) were the principal contractors and Russ and Harrison the architects. Robert B. Annis founded the Annis Electrical Apparatus Company in the mid 1920s. During his spare time, he explored photography as a hobby. He took many trips throughout the western U.S. and documented his travels with films and photographs. He also produced public relations films for several Indianapolis businesses including the Indianapolis Water Company, Bethlehem Steel, and Citizens Gas and Coke Utility.
